It’s the last weekend of June: school is out for the summer, and the first exodus of Yellowknifers heading out for the season is happening just as the forest fire smoke rolls in. We’ve counted 33 yard sales going on this weekend, making this your busiest Saturday morning yet. There’s one happening in almost every area of town tomorrow, including Avens’ Annual Garage Sale, a fundraiser at Bella Dance Academy, even a Sweet Sale from Northern Chicks catering. Please use our map below to help plan your route, and let us know if there’s anything else we can add to maximize your weekend bargain-hunting potential.
After yard rummaging, check out the Great Slave Sailing Club’s Open House, starting at 1 p.m. There’ll be a BBQ, a sail-past and information on the Giant Mine Remediation Plan. That’s of course if you’re not already going to be getting your Om on at the Midnight Sun Yoga & Music Festival this weekend. Check out our Event listings for more, but we understand if you just need to put your feet up, close your windows and/or put on the air purifier, and stay in Savasana the rest of the weekend.
